This is just one of a host of small drawings I've been listing on Ebay this week; I purchased some really good quality colour pencils and have been enjoying their buttery feel on the smooth vellum paper I use.

It's always a challenge to find objects to draw; but then, almost anything can be made to look interesting when it's drawn or painted!

Inspired by an album of very old photos (filled mostly with people I do not know!) I decided to do a short ACEO series entitled "Faces From the Past".
I did this one a few months ago, but today decided to change the colour of the background. I think it makes a huge difference. The background used to be green, but this warm grey looks much better...

I've done so many drawings of broken egg shells, I thought I might as well take a crack at drawing what's INSIDE them! (pun intended!).

More broken egg shells! I love drawing/painting those things! This is the first time I've used coloured pencils for this subject.

I usually stay away form watercolours, because that medium rather intimidates me! However, on a small scale like these ACEO's , they're great to work with!

I did this one as a gift for my middle son's 31st birthday. It depicts him and his little daughter, Andrea Joyce, at a rodeo where he participated in the bareback bronc riding. (I'm happy to say he doesn't do that any more!) Here they are looking at the horses together.

Whenever I babysit my grandkids, I take along my pencils; so last night I sketched these little shoes which belong to wee Morrigan, and drew them after I'd gotten her and Gus put to bed. I painted them in the studio this morning.

This was a fun little study to do. I love the feel of colored pencil on vellum........a very smooth, thick drawing paper.
